Myth busted : We only use 10 Percent of Our Brain
Through medical history neuroscientists and doctors have observed people functioning perfectly well when large portions of damaged brain cells have been surgically removed. This led to the myth that we only use a small proportion of our brains. Thanks to EEGs, or PET scans we now know that there is activity throughout our brains.

Neuroscientist, Eric Chudler recently stated: The brain, isn’t like a disc drive with some set amount of capacity. It’s a dynamic maze of wiring where new connections can be created in response to new stimuli, or lost with disuse.

Conclusion: We have the ability to use all of our brains however If we don’t use it we lose it – Myth Busted!

It makes sense now as with a lot of things in life, if we give up half way we never reach the summit of our potential. If we settle for a quiet life then we never fully take the Promised Land of our dreams. If we don’t intellectually stimulate our minds then we don’t use the full potential of our brains. It is no different with Christianity, we have a lot of spiritual gifts available if we would only us them.

Like the ‘We only use 10 Percent of Our Brain myth’ Our Christianity is also victim to myths and wrong concepts. Things like; temple worship was abolished at the cross, yet Christians have built the most elaborate church buildings eroding the temple of the Holy Spirit within us’. Temple worship may only effect traditional Christians however charismatic Christians are constantly trying to invite the Holy Spirit into their meetings when he is already present. We ask the Holy Spirit to refill us inferring that he has left us, which is simply not true. Like mystics Christians travel miles to visit ‘thin places’ as if they don’t really believe that the Holy Spirit lives in the Temple of their own hearts.

These myths are crippling the Church, but if we believe the scriptures and break these wrong concepts the rivers of the Holy Spirit will flow unhindered from Gods people once again.
